Phezulu Cultural Village

I have been taking a number of our guests to Phezulu and they all love it especially the dancing. A recent couple had the following to say about a tour out there with me.

“Iain, many thanks for helping us with your suggestions (and arrangements) on places to visit around KZN. Your guided tour to Phezulu cultural village was excellent – the drive through Durban and up to the Valley of 1000 hills was a very pleasant, relaxed and informative introduction to the region – and the Zulu tour was, again, most informative and very well presented by the excellent Zulu hosts.

We hope to visit you again – and again, very many thanks.”

I have just popped into Durban to “feel” the vibe in the city and it’s amazing. The world famous annual ultra distance 90km Comrades Marathon is due to be run between Pietermaritzburg and Durban tomorrow with 20000 runners registered. And with the temperature forecast to be 29 degrees it will be hot out there. But fortunately there are 50 odd watering stations along the way so these athletes have the opportunity to be well hydrated.
And if that isn’t enough excitement for the day, the Sharks/Stormers rugby match later this evening will, as always be a thrilling encounter. This is Shark country and the win is vital for us to consolidate our position at the top of the log.
So the “Golden Mile” and surrounds obviously including Umhlanga Rocks is pumping with visitors.

I think I was 20 the first time I went to Phezulu and the nearby crocodile park. They were places I had passed many times in the past, but are really worth the visit. And the whole 1000 hills is really stunning.
